Merano and Environs is one of our country’s most popular and diverse holiday regions. Merano and Environs is located in the western part of South Tyrol where Val Venosta/Vinschgau and Val Passiria/Passeiertal meet. What is particularly remarkable is the warm and mild climate that visitors experience in Merano and Environs. Here you can sense a Mediterranean flair surrounded by the South Tyrolean Alps. Probably the most well-known place in the Merano and Environs holiday region is the spa town of Merano/Meran with its sights.
Spa town Merano/Meran
Merano/Meran is situated at 325 metres above sea level and attracts many holidaymakers to the spa town due to its mild climate. Even in the past many guests have come to Merano and Environs to spend their holidays and benefit from the Mediterranean climate of Merano/Meran town, even famous people like Empress Sissi, Franz Kafka and Richard Strauss. Besides the variety of different baths, new applications and treatment methods, such as vibration massages and moor mud wraps are also offered in Merano and Environs. Terme Merano/Therme Meran was opened in the heart of the spa town in 2005 and thus continued the tradition of health resort stays and wellness in Merano/Meran. You can find 25 indoor and outdoor pools here as well as a sauna complex, which is 1,250m2 large.
Culture does not fall by the wayside in Merano and Environs and in particular in Merano/Meran town either. You can admire many sights, including Merano/Meran Kurhaus. This Art Nouveau style building is one of the town’s landmarks and is used as a venue for all kinds of different events in Merano and Environs. Recommended events in Merano/Meran and therefore also in the holiday region Merano and Environs are the Altstadtfest, the Grand Prix of Merano/Meran Forst and the Merano/Meran WineFestival.

Scena/Schenna
The small village is situated above Merano/Meran, nestled between vineyards and orchards. The municipality on a sunny slope in Merano and Environs consists of seven districts where you enjoy both Mediterranean flair and an alpine lifestyle.
Tirolo/Dorf Tirol
The Texel Group starts in Tirolo/Dorf Tirol situated above Merano/Meran. The village is a superb starting point for hikes in Merano and Environs, for example for the Merano/Meran High Altitude Trail. Visit Castel Tirolo/Schloss Tirol, which towers majestically above the village!
Lana
Lana is situated south of Merano/Meran and is South Tyrol’s largest fruit growing town. The “apple village”, as Lana is also called, impresses due to its family-friendly and very modern appearance and the many sights that you can visit.
Parcines/Partschins
Parcines/Partschins situated at the base of the Texel Group is the western gateway to Merano and Environs. Visit the famous typewriter museum here and take a trip to the Parcine/Partschins waterfalls, which breathtakingly rapidly flow down from a height.
