Day trips: discover South Tyrol and other places
Day trips: starting out from South Tyrol
You can take day trips in South Tyrol and beyond the region’s borders from our apartment in South Tyrol. You can discover and visit a great deal in Merano and Environs and all over South Tyrol. Take a day trip to the regional capital of Bolzano/Bozen and visit the South Tyrolean Archaeology Museum or simply stroll through the arcades and enjoy an Italian espresso on Waltherplatz.
You can also take a lot of day trips outside Tyrol in one day though. You can drive by car to Lake Garda in one and a half hours and can even visit Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet. We recommend you also take a day trip to Venice, which is approximately 290 kilometres away from our holiday apartment in South Tyrol. The Italian lagoon city is mainly famous for its canals, the so-called secret waterways.
Innsbruck, the regional capital of Tyrol, can be reached in just under two hours. It’s worth visiting the “Goldene Dachl”, Hofburg (Imperial Palace) and the Bergisel ski jump there. One other impressive city is Munich, the regional capital of Bavaria. For a day trip there you need three and a half to four hours by car from Merano/Meran in South Tyrol.
Coaches run every day staring from South Tyrol and stopping at various towns along the way. You can contact us at any time for more information. We will be happy to assist you in planning your day trips both within and outside South Tyrol.
